- After inflation equal number of particles and antiparticles were created.But have you ever wondered why they didnt annihilate away? The reason for this is the X boson and anti-X boson.These are really massive particles and were created in equal number during inflation. But as the universe cooled down, they became unstable and decayed into lighter quarks and leptons. But for every 100,000,000 quarks and leptons created only 99,999,999 anti particles were created. This unbalance in matter and antimatter resulted in all the matter particles present in this universe.
- We can literally see they big bang. Hard to believe ha? Its true.They reminiscence of the big bang is present even today in the form of background radiation. It started of as X rays and gamma radiations but at present is in the form of radio waves and microwave radiation with a temperature of about 2.73 K.Remember the grainy image we see through TV when there is no signal? We are actually seeing big bang radiation along with other noise signals.
- Its common knowledge that when you are traveling with a velocity of 100km/h and throwing a ball at 10 km/h then the velocity of the ball with respect to the ground will be 110 km/h.But if you are moving in a car at 100 km/h and turning on the head light, then the speed of light will not be c+100, it will be c itself. It is one of the postulates of The General Theory of Relativity by Einstein that the speed of light with respect to any reference frame is constant.
- Right after the big bang the main particles that existed in the universe where quarks, leptons and WIMPS(Weakly Interacting Massive Particles).The forces were carried by W&Z bosons(Weak force) , gluons(Strong Force), photons(Electromagnetic Force) and gravitons(Gravitational force).
